The Art, Design and Technology departments hosted their annual exhibition showcasing final GCSE pieces.
The event was hosted at Stratford School Academy and saw a great turnout including parents, staff, students. A mixture of KS3 and KS4 students provided music for the event, with a spot of DJ’ing thrown in for good measure.
The Year 11 art sketchbooks and D&T portfolios were on display and it was a chance to celebrate the breath-taking pieces that students have been working on for the past two years. Ms Donohoe and Ms Mckenna both agreed that the high quality of work reflected the energetic, creative and hard-working nature of the students involved.
The exhibition was curated by ex SSA art student, Ajay Pabial who is currently undertaking a BA (Honours) degree in Fine Art at the University of Reading.
Following the success of the exhibition in school, students had their work showcased at Newham’s Annual Schools’ Art Exhibition, hosted in the Fine Arts Studio at the University of East London, Docklands Campus. Over 1000 students from Newham schools and colleges took part in this annual event. SSA students performed on the evening of the opening ceremony.
