Year 10 work experience is now complete and it has been a pleasure to listen to the positive feedback from employers and students. The students secured some interesting placements and the school are pleased to hear that they adopted a positive attitude throughout the process. The placements allowed students to gain an understanding of the kind of skills that employers look for and provided them an opportunity to develop communication and self-confidence skills.
Year 10 students were each given a Work Experience Diary and encouraged to keep a record of different tasks that they had to complete throughout the day, what went well for them and what improvements they could make. Staff supported students by visiting them at their placements and providing them with advice, encouragement and guidance.
Some of the companies that students gained placements on included: Barclays Bank (Zakariya, Shakil) Elmhurst Primary School (Shaban, Zakiya, Hardeepak) Forest Gate Youth Centre (Victor, Vincent) John Lewis (Jaymie Buck) West Ham Utd-Learning Centre (Bilal).
