Coronavirus (COVID-19) Catch-up Premium

At Stratford we have received C-19 specific earmarked ESFA funding in October 2020 of £29,890 to support students who have become disadvantaged due to the Covid-19 epidemic. This is separate to extra funding for Free School Meals allocation.

How we as a school spend the catch up premium:

As a school we use the catch-up premium in a variety of ways. These are as follows:

  • Some of the catch-up funding contributes to providing extra tuition for year 11 students in Maths and Science. We use MyTutor for this to support Year 11 students and ensure they are able to keep up to speed with their Maths and Science work. This intensive tuition is on a 1:1 and 1:3 basis and provides students with a programme of support
  • The school has accessed the NTP which gives the school access to extra academic tutors. We have also redeployed staff to fill this role as well as gaining a Maths academic tutor and in February a Geography academic tutor
  • Some of the funding contributes to extra Academic Tutors in Year 11 where students are supported in school but also given extra tuition in Maths and English. This is across both Key Stages
  • We have provided online Apps such as MathsWatch and Tassomai that supports online learning in Maths and Science
  • As a school we have purchased Laptops, Wi-Fi dongles and associated equipment so students are able to engage with remote learning from home
  • We have provided extra resources such as Core textbooks for KS4 students and extra stationary resources for pupils to work remotely

How the effect of this expenditure on the educational attainment of those pupils will be assessed:

  • The effect of this expenditure will be assessed in a variety of ways:
  • Attendance and engagement with the tuition
  • Engagement with Microsoft Teams to assess the use of school issued laptops
  • Engagement of students with online Apps like MathsWatch and Tassomai
  • Improved outcomes for targeted students who are involved in the extra tuition
