Stratford School Academy’s Phased-Return to School

Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils,

RE: Stratford School Academy’s Phased-Return to School

After the statement from the Prime Minister on 10th May we now know that we will be reopening the school on a very limited basis for year 10 from the start of June. The department of education have told all schools that:

From the week commencing 1 June 2020 at the earliest, we will ask secondary schools to offer some face-to-face support to supplement the remote education of year 10 students who are due to take key exams next year, alongside the full time provision they are offering to priority groups.

We have received guidance from the Department for Education on how schools are expected to return and we have already started to put plans in place to ensure we are able to welcome our Year 10 pupils back into the school whilst meeting the social distancing requirements. We will work from the principle that the safety and mental, emotional and physical well-being of our staff and students is our highest priority.

We will be contacting Year 10 parents and pupils shortly with more details of our plan for enabling a safe return to school.

Pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 will continue with home-learning using either our website or working through the work packs being sent home. We will shortly be enhancing the provision we offer by setting work which will need to be returned to school for assessment and feedback.

Until Year 10 pupils return to school at the start of June they should also continue working through the work on the school website, the work emailed by teachers or the work packs that have been sent home. We will contact parents and pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 shortly with some more guidance on working from home.

We can assure all parents that during these unprecedented times we will work with every pupil to ensure they make the progress they should and leave us with the GCSE results they need to go on to the next stage of their education.
