On Monday, 27th January, ten students from our school took part in the Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony at the Old Town Hall in Stratford. This significant event saw students joining Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, council members, local residents, and invited guests to honour the memory of those affected by the Holocaust.
As part of the ceremony, three of our students; Zarwa, Safa and Lillith had the special responsibility of reading a poem, adding a poignant touch to the commemoration. This opportunity allowed our students to engage deeply with history and reflect on the lessons it offers for the present and future.
Holocaust Memorial Day serves as a reminder of the importance of remembrance and education in combating prejudice and discrimination. Through their participation, our students contributed to the collective effort to ensure that the horrors of the past are never forgotten.
We are proud of our students for representing our school at this important event and for their dedication to learning from history. Their involvement underscores our commitment to fostering awareness, empathy, and a sense of responsibility in the next generation.
