UPDATE RE: Stratford School Academy Phased-Return
Year 10: Following the Prime Minister’s announcement we are changing the date for Year 10 to begin their face-to-face sessions. The revised start date we are now working towards is Monday 15th June and we will confirm this as soon as possible. The announcement also stated schools can only open to 25% of Year 10 per day. Guidance will be sent to parents and carers of Year 10 pupils on Thursday 28th May and after this date will be available here.
Information for year 10 pupils studying French and Spanish and their parents;
As I am sure you are aware, exams have been cancelled by the government in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. This includes the exams you were going to sit for French and Spanish.
Therefore you will not be expected to take exams in French or Spanish in year 11 but will instead receive calculated GCSE grades later this summer for the language you have been studying. These calculated grades are based on evidence such as PPE exams and class work. The results will be release on the 20th August 2020. We therefore want year 10 pupils to focus on their other subjects. Thank you.
Years 7, 8 & 9: From Monday the 8th of June we will be providing pupils with their work via Microsoft Teams (‘Teams’). ‘Teams’ is a learning Hub which will allow pupils to receive their lessons and work digitally and then submit their completed work to a teacher. Click here for more information.
Microsoft Teams: If parents would like to know more about ‘Teams’ they should go to our website, select ‘Parents’ from the menu and then select ‘Microsoft Teams Information’.
Vulnerable Pupils: In line with the latest Department for Education guidance, pupils identified as vulnerable children of all year groups will continue to be expected, and encourage, to attend educational provision where it is appropriate for them to do so. For children with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), this will be informed by the Academy’s Risk Assessment.
Free School Meals: We will continue to provide Free School Meals which can be collected from the school reception every Wednesday & Thursday between 10:30 and 12:30. Free School Meals are in the form of food parcels with some food to be cooked at home and some food ready to eat. Please include collecting the meals within your daily exercise.
Safety: If anybody needs to contact the school for safety reasons or information on keeping safe, please do so through the advised means.
